OPINION: Is giving up flying the best way to stop climate change?

As I write the flight confirmations for my next holiday are ticking in.

Brace yourselves for an itinerary that is a slap in the face for the environment: Beijing, China to Brussels, Belgium to Aalborg, Denmark to Atlanta, USA and back to Beijing.if we want a chance of stopping global warming then that trip will generate twice as much as I should be producing in an entire year.My conscience was temporarily relieved when I made a donation through myclimate.org and invested in some new stoves for a group of women in Kenya.

no need to cause it's a hoax...

Even if we did the very rich won’t.

Don't even think about it. The climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years and nothing we do will stop it. Human activity probably contributes little or nothing. Australia's contribution is practically zero. We are inundated with lies and lunatics.

Don't forget your insurance when you buy that row boat for your next trip to the USA, save the planet!!

1. Population control 2. Stop all the cheap imports. So much landfill. 3. Plastic packaging.

Stop the volcanos erupting!

Give this 'climate change' a well-earned rest and start saying and printing the word 'pollution'. We are 'polluting' our planet. We should use the word 'respect' also, we respect nothing.

'With tears in my eyes, I have seen thousands of acres of palm oil plantations in Asia from the air'; 'it is not sustainable to give up flying. I believe we should all be allowed to discover every continent of the world' Entitled much? Blatant rationalisation. 😒 climatecrisis

HA. Good luck with that one ABC.

Globo Sapien justifies selfish choices providing solutions. Peak modern liberalism. ie I’ll continue to operate like everyone maybe worse, but cry offering solutions while mentioning my superior qualifications.

I think the best way Australia can help climate change is to invest in other countries that are big polluters. Like solar panels for Indians in slums etc.

You’ve got to joking. What will some one think up next. Don’t eat this it will give you cancer, save the planet don’t fly .........

You don't have to do anything because climate change is nothing but a hoax

No, the best way is to give up having children.

For those who believe in the the great global warming (sorry) climate change hoax you better stop flying otherwise you shall be called a hypocrite.

Every time someone burns something it produces CO2. Every day billions of people cook something using gas. That's a lot of CO2. Let's ban that. Cars produce CO2. Let's ban them. Coal and oil used to generate power. Ban them. Restaurants cooking. Ban them. Oh and planes . . .

Aviation has a growing share of carbon pollution and was exempt from the Kyoto protocol. It is time that aviation is not exempt and has to start cleaning up the pollution it contributes.

Our modern living of overconsumption and the sheer volume of people means our planet is being ruined at a rapid rate. Giving up flying is one of many things that one could do to help alleviate stress on the planet.

Yes, but the left won’t focus on that.. they exclusively run narrative rather than fact Like coffee cups.. rather than drinking less coffee (the right answer) they focus on reusable cups.. which take way more energy to produce and need to be washed in hot water each time! 🤔

Giving up the IPA and getting rid of them for ever would be quicker faster and more beneficial to humanity

Another champagne socialist trying to rationalise their hypocrisy.

Di Natale slams climate change costings as 'garbage' | Sky News AustraliaGreens leader Richard Di Natale has slammed climate change cost modelling by economist Brian Fisher as ‘garbage’. \n\nMr Fisher has estimated Labor’s plan to reduce carbon emissions by 45 per cent by 2030, would wipe $542 billion from the Australian economy. \n\nMr Di Natale has told Sky News the modelling should be disregarded because it doesn’t consider the cost of climate change ‘inaction’. \n\nThe Greens leader says he had no doubt ‘the cost of inaction will dwarf the cost of action’. \n\n\n\n\n So he didnt actually dispute the cost... And he would know about garbage. The Greens have been peddling it for decades. auspol ausvotes greensbelonginsaladnotsenates So Richard produced his own modelling? Didn't think so.

Be changing for a while.A billion years or so.Measuring that with a microscope and deluding yourself that it can be changed is the foundation of a cult sweeping the world.Nothing good can actually come of it,but you know that. p_hannam Surprise surprise 😂😂 p_hannam Bullbadash, geoengineering is used for weather modification which creates drought, also used to seed clouds for rain, you're just ignorant to it's existence, unlike abcnews who report on it. 'He’s defying scientific fact': Striking students confront Tony Abbott on climate changeStudents have once again taken to the streets, two weeks out from the federal election, to make sure climate change remains front and centre of political debate. The truth is the students are living fantastic lives thanks to coal, so we have a girl that got shot in the head saying go to school and now we have socialist teachers telling children not to go to school. Stop using children as pawns, cretins. I saw the pictures it looks like the children were taken hostage. Don’t vote for the dinosaur. He is genuinely clueless. Past his use by date. Vote for Zali
