The level of concern about climate change in Australia is higher than the international average, new polling shows

.by Ipsos which asked respondents to rate their top three environmental concerns found climate change, air pollution and dealing with waste are the three biggest worries.Opinion polls show concern about climate change is growing in Australia. In Australia 44 per cent ranked climate change among their three biggest environmental worries - 9 percentage points higher than last year - and well above the international average of 37 per cent.

Eight out of 10 international respondents said they were concerned about the effects on the environment of plastic packaging, plastic bags and other disposable objects which cannot be recycled. “For example, 44 per cent of Australians support additional government spending to ensure we can recycle a wider range of materials. With China taking less of the world’s plastic over the past couple of years that shows some support for home grown solutions.”

However, Australians were much less worried about air pollution than most other nations – it was rated a top concern by 15 per cent here, the second lowest share in the survey and well below the international average of 35 per cent.

Because it’s the hottest, driest country in the world

Seriously FakeNews at its best ....Remember Al Gore....it was called GLOBAL WARMING '..too cold! ...Climate change is a hoax and politicians use it for a political agenda.... WakeUp Australia

very good news as de head towards an election .

Maybe because we currently have a government who can't get their act together and determined to do as little as possible?

Over thousands of years, the human race has changed our climate, but if anyone thinks it can be reversed or fixed, they are fucken stupid. Maybe we can slow it down a little, but nothing significant, the damage has already been done. It’s just like religion, ALL BULLSHIT!!

Is this the same polling showing the Greens on 16% primary vote? auspol2019

There is no shield around us. Even if we could magically bring our emissions down to zero, it would only take two more months of Chinese emissions to cancel that reduction out. A carbon tax is like paying someone else to go on a diet.

Pollution everyone is concerned with who would want to pollute nature and not have clean water, parks and forests? What’s with the climate change slogan. NOONE knows with absolute fact it changes climate. Until then be accurate instead of laying out the cheap slogans.

25 years ago when i was talking about the climate, i was called a tree hugging commuist. I'm afraid it could be too late.

JulieLyford auspol ausvotes ”1 in ten Australian homes could be uninsurable” “... data, published by the Actuaries Institute, reveals the frequency of extreme weather in the country’s worst-affected regions has doubled ...” ClimateChange abc730

that's simply because many Australians are so easily conned.

auspol Just shows Australians aren't as stupid as many politicians think they are! We have noticed how the weather patterns are changing here, of course Australians are concerned re climate change!

MissKayeSera The hottest dryest continent on earth - we have every reason to be. If your not worried about it getting worse - you should be.

There is nothing wrong with climate change!...get over it!!!

Raymartin55 That wouldn't have anything to with the fact we are one of the countries doing the least about it would it? Our emissions are up and trending up. We export coal and fracked gas. We demonize wind and solar at Gov level. We make a jokes about EV futures. Oh but we are worried 🙄

Sad thing is the liberals don’t believe in Climate Change

Because Australia has done less about climate change than the international average

Joyce n Canavan want to export more coal More billions to be made They think bugger d kids

Not in my neck of the woods.

Because the media beats it up everyday

Kids protesting for climate change but can’t string a coherent sentence together. Makes sense.

The indoctrinated gullibles.

Rubbish ;The UK have just declared a 'Climate Emergency' and the EU are talking future sanctions against Trumps America .......this is international news playing out now !!

That's what happens you are continually bombarded by the media about it 24/7

There are still eminent scientists who disagree with climate change. Being simple minded I say 'there have been ice ages therefore there must have been warming periods but we know little about these warming periods.'

Rubbish

Yes. Because the green/left media and teachers are brainwashing the community and kids into believing weather is climate.

That’s because most Australians are stupid.

Global Climate Change movement is just a wealth redistribution scam.

👀

Yeh let’s just get rid of all Australians industry and bankrupt the country.

It's all, Propaganda Intimidation Scams

No shit. Tell that to the Morrison Government

Except him...

'He’s defying scientific fact': Striking students confront Tony Abbott on climate changeStudents have once again taken to the streets, two weeks out from the federal election, to make sure climate change remains front and centre of political debate. The truth is the students are living fantastic lives thanks to coal, so we have a girl that got shot in the head saying go to school and now we have socialist teachers telling children not to go to school. Stop using children as pawns, cretins. I saw the pictures it looks like the children were taken hostage. Don’t vote for the dinosaur. He is genuinely clueless. Past his use by date. Vote for Zali

Is giving up flying the best way to stop climate change?I start sweating nervously every time I read about how air travel impacts the environment. I don't want to stay grounded. Another champagne socialist trying to rationalise their hypocrisy. Giving up the IPA and getting rid of them for ever would be quicker faster and more beneficial to humanity Yes, but the left won’t focus on that.. they exclusively run narrative rather than fact Like coffee cups.. rather than drinking less coffee (the right answer) they focus on reusable cups.. which take way more energy to produce and need to be washed in hot water each time! 🤔

Di Natale slams climate change costings as 'garbage' | Sky News AustraliaGreens leader Richard Di Natale has slammed climate change cost modelling by economist Brian Fisher as ‘garbage’. \n\nMr Fisher has estimated Labor’s plan to reduce carbon emissions by 45 per cent by 2030, would wipe $542 billion from the Australian economy. \n\nMr Di Natale has told Sky News the modelling should be disregarded because it doesn’t consider the cost of climate change ‘inaction’. \n\nThe Greens leader says he had no doubt ‘the cost of inaction will dwarf the cost of action’. \n\n\n\n\n So he didnt actually dispute the cost... And he would know about garbage. The Greens have been peddling it for decades. auspol ausvotes greensbelonginsaladnotsenates So Richard produced his own modelling? Didn't think so.
