Touted as the largest automotive investment in Canadian history, a new $5 billion electric vehicle battery plant in Windsor is slated to open in 2024 and employ 2,500 workers when fully operational a year later.

In Windsor on Wednesday, Premier Doug Ford said the plant “will secure Ontario’s place as a North American hub for building the cars and batteries of the future.” Sources said the Ontario and federal governments were contributing “hundreds of millions” of dollars but the province was not specifying its share “to ensure our negotiating position is protected for future investments” in the EV realm.

Each level of government provided massive incentives (hundreds of millions) But, unclear how much funding the federal and provincial governments kicked in.

How much is the government pitching in for this one I'm guessing at least half

BUT, is Ford going to bring back the Electric Vehicle Incentive (rebate) that he cancelled? It's nice to make parts for such cars, but would be even nicer to be able to afford to buy one in Ontario.
