The EPA south of the border have officially rated the estimated driving range that the hotly anticipated all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning can travel on a fully charged battery — and the results are very promising. — via drivingdotca EV ...

Until now, the Blue Oval was sticking with a 300-mile range as its talking point when asked about the Lightning ER’s capability. Note the top-rung Platinum trim is still rated at that figure, likely due to a different tire and wheel setup.

These are impressive numbers, especially for a pickup truck whose general shape does not necessarily lend itself to favourable aerodynamics.Lightning Strikes Twice: Ford's all-electric F-150 is a match for its go-faster ancestor It remains to be seen how this range is affected by performing truck-like duties such as hauling payload or towing a trailer, though your author will note those same activities put a dent in how far one can travel on a tank of fuel in an ICE-powered truck as well. Nothing’s free. Mirroring recent upgrades to gubbins in the Mach-E, the truck should be able to provide real-time range estimates based on variables such as traffic volume.

In Canada, consumer-grade trims of the F-150 Lightning will start at $68,000 for an XLT equipped with a standard range battery; upgrading to the extended range unit pushes the sticker over 80 grand. Full-zoot Platinum models come equipped with the bigger battery along with luxury items like heated and cooled massaging seats for a cool $110,000 before taxes and freight fees.

We should have started 20 nuclear projects 15 years ago. We didn’t, so this doesn’t work anymore. Myself and all my neighbours have taycans and hummer EVs on order . Average price 165000 Some of us just drive less. I moved closer to work 25 years ago and have walked every day since. Never wanted to be a slave to big oil as they go through their death throes.
