Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says current conditions in Australia, such as flooding and bushfires, are one reason as to why the government is “determined to act on climate change”. Mr Albanese said Australia needs to “maximise preparedness” for harsh weather conditions, including flooding and bushfires. “That is what we are doing between the Commonwealth and State Governments,” he said during a media conference on Wednesday. “This is one of the reasons why my government ... are determined to act on climate change. “We also need to deal with the here and now.”
