With a 360-mile range, the new £96,255 Volvo EX90 is the Swedish firm's longest-range EV and the electric successor to the XC90:

A major focus of the EX90 has been on the safety features, software and hardware that underpins the machine. Most notably, it will feature a Lidar as standard – it will be an option on the Polestar 3 – with the sensor mounted on the front edge of the roof. That will complement a range of other interior and exterior sensors and cameras to power advanced driver assistance and safety systems.

The interior dashboard is built around a 14.5in central touchscreen that features Volvo’s Google-based infotainment. The model features a 5G connection as standard to aid with over-the-air updates. The EX90 will also support bi-directional charging, allowing it to send power to a home through a bi-directional wall box. That service will initially be offered in select markets.

It’ll be worth £40,000 in 18 months.

NINETY SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED & FIFTY FIVE POUNDS! ARE YOU FUCKING MAD? IT'S A VOLVO.

Who's actually able to afford these things?

Oh yeah I mean affordability wasn’t in the price tag!

Cheap family motoring !!!!

Embarrassing the Germans again. Still not tiring. Here's to the alternative premium OEM's

What an ecological disaster; this car consumes far, far to many of the planet’s scarce resources. Volvo must now be up there with Bentley and Rolls Royce for building needlessly damaging cars. It wasn’t long ago they built sensible small (C segment) cars. What an awful firm.

They want the world to go green but no one can afford to

Where do they make these prices up

You would only have to sell one a year and you could live on the commission.

‘Ow much?!

Whats that? £15k deposit with £1200 monthly payments? (Just a guess) Do these car manufacturers think people are made out of money? Stupidity

Electric EX90 heralds start of a new Volvo eraSeven seats, 373 miles of range and 'defined by its software' - welcome to the future of family Volvos... What family can afford a £97k car? Irrelevant to 99% of people. Volvo are really doing a nice job with their design language these days. I had one of the current XC90’s and it was great, but I hated the engine. Electric should solve the one part that wasn’t great. ‘Defined by its software’ let’s hope that it’s different from what Polestar are running, what with their major TCAM issues…😬
