Letters to the Editor: Los Angeles is a city built for cars, and as such will soon have a lot of EVs that need parking and road space. Plan for that future. (via latimesopinion)

. But as we all get electric cars, we still need to park the cars where we work and live. We need to park the cars where we shop, and we need to park the cars where we run our errands and enjoy recreation.

Los Angeles is not a pedestrian city, and we are not inclined to walk blocks with our groceries from some public transit depot. And we are not inclined to be required to do our shopping and recreation and worship near where we live.I read Schneider’s article while visiting Granada, Spain. He’s right: Changing an oversized, speeding combustible engine with an electric one isn’t the fix we need.

He says that EVs end up spewing roughly 50% of the carbon dioxide that cars with internal combustion engines do. That is an old saw based on driving your car in states with fossil-fueled grids.

opinion If the Cities Power Grid was Suffering during the Summer Days, more Electric Cars on the Grid is going to make It Crash. Who will have priority to charging their electric cars 1st? Not the middle class. Lower class cant afford electric cars.

opinion Only reason why LA is a Car only city is because the Car Companies are Paying to Keep it that Way. Electric Trains Ran throughout the Whole City in the early 1900s. Then they began making roads for Cars to Drive on Replacing the Electric Trains. CarLobbyists

opinion More parking lots, stroads, and freeways have been what LA has been doing for 60+ years, all we get for it is more traffic, urban sprawl, traffic accidents and deaths, car dependency, hostile pedestrian spaces, and unafforable housing. I could go on. We need to think differently.
