Government supports for businesses must not “shore up” unviable firms or be aimed at companies that do not need them, the National Competitiveness and Productivity Council has said.

Dr Frances Ruane, the chair of the government advice body, said businesses would be “differentially affected” by the energy crisis and any policy response should reflect this.

This is the economics of, if I had an egg, I could have an egg and rasher if I had a rasher!! For that statement they should be disbanded and banished from any future public office!

drbambrick Ok so by that logic we need to stop the CAP for half the farms in Ireland (including most beef farms)
