Most of us reach for the car keys every day, but could you ditch the car to make way for your bike for 365 days?

Beginning in the height of summer, Ms Dikeni said the climate and her family were part of her motivation with the motto:"One mum, one year. No car, no excuses".

"I work full-time and I have two little boys who do martial arts, rugby, soccer and I run 50 kilometres a week and go to the gym. "My kids are nine and seven and they are physically big, nearly weighing 60kg, but I feel safer with them in the bicycle even though they could ride on their own — its safer on the roads," she said.

So? I ride a bike, have solar panels and battery, don't use air-conditioning at home, and compost organic waste . My choices; not sacrifices for the planet. Reducing waste and pollution is good but it will have about as much effect on climate change as a bandaid on a broken arm.

Every little bit helps said the boy as he pissed in to the ocean. Baby steps from all of us would be better than doing nothing.

That's not Zali Steggle, that eco warrior still drives around in her huge 4x4. WindmillsForWarringah

Awesome. Balances out my V12.

So woke!

Lets see how she gets on ..in say 10 years from now ....no report then .....ABC idiotic news ...not just fake news ....

The picture tells everything about the story. Tell me how I go🤓 *woman (mother) from a city who would be lucky to drive 50 km a week and she is using this to virtue signal to the rest of us? How did I go?

I guess it's not too difficult for Ghanaians to be resourceful and choose to ride bicycles and live without power during dumsor. A fact of life is that Australia is a highly developed country and our way of life is very different. Our society is based on the car and that's that.

Looking for Attention & a public profile more like it !!

I’ve switched off a lamp to save the world climate.

Fkn gronk

Great and all but if you fly and eat meat everyday... Your no hero...

carry the kids on bike n groceries too May be only few morons doing it with so much inconvenience E-car?

If she wasn't married to a Ghanaian, and wearing a burka. This story would never have been told and her efforts would have truly been for nothing.

Pity for a Green Schoolteacher she cannot spell Business ! The Dope Force is strong around this one !

Look at me, aren't I great. I pledge to use my non-green ute as much as I want, when I want and no one cares about me either.

People are confusing conservation with planet stability . Two dif subjects , one true & one not . Nothing wrong with cleaning house , but I can assure you , it won’t fall down if dirty. If she was tuned to all that is she would know nature knows how to balance it self

I have no probs with the Amish community. If she wants to start living with no tech st that’s her choice . Bet she happily used medical tech though when needed. And much more .

Great, she also needs to turn off all electricity, ditch her mobile and all electronic equipment and only eat home grown organic food and that will make NO difference to China and India who pollute with out any controls (Check out photos of Dehli this week)

Adam Bandt should be tied to a tree and beaten to within an inch of his life. Then locked up nude with the pedophiles of Long Bay Gaol for a week of none stop humping. Then doused with cooking oil and set alight. He a kunt.

Only 365 days, pffft I've done better than that, but I still think these sorts of people are wankers and should stop trying to virtue signal because it just annoys people by ignoring the unique circumstances of each of our lives.

Islam is right about women.

A ABCaustralia poster girl by the look of it

YourABC - promoting unattainable hypocrisy-free living as a narrative rather than a fact.

No brains

A wonderful effort and setting a great example for her boys and her grade 1 students. One lady who is going to influence many.

Climate change dispute breaks out as Scott Morrison visits bushfire-hit areasDeputy PM Michael McCormack has dismissed Greens MP Adam Bandt's criticism that climate change inaction is linked to the deadly bushfires as 'comments coming from a little Melbourne apartment from a little individual with a little mind' Adam Bandt's comments are informed by scientific evidence. McCormack's comments don't even address the question and just attack the person on the other end of the conversation. How helpful is that from our DPM? Why do our pollies reject science? He can dismiss it as much as he likes the proof is in the pudding?
