These Activists are Planning A Public Funeral During Fashion Week for Lives Lost to Climate Change

, and now they're planning disruptive acts of civil disobedience throughout the event, culminating with a funeral entitled London Fashion Week: Rest in Peace.

The organization is passionate about climate change, spreading awareness of human impact on the climate crisis, and making changes to human behavior and consumption that negatively impact the environment. And this week, leading activists Sara Arnold and Jessie Brinton shared their plans and intentions withwith Brinton saying, “This is a time for boldness. We have to shift the conversation and you can’t do that gently. Everything else has been tried.

The "largely symbolic" actions Extinction Rebellion plan to take include targeting individual show venues, the British Fashion Council’s headquarters in Somerset House, and an organized walk on the final day from Trafalgar Square to 180 The Strand where they will participate in a "die-in." Arnold told, "We’ll drop to the ground on the streets outside and block the road. The funeral is to commemorate the lives that have been lost from this crisis.
