.markdreyfusQCMP on AngusTaylorMP's business interests: It's a matter for the Australian people to judge, that's why we have the register for members interests. Even dormant companies need to be disclosed. He's flouted this system. MORE: SkyLiveNow

EXCLUSIVE: Energy Minister Angus Taylor has again attracted scrutiny over previous business interests, after failing to declare his stake in a business he co-founded. Sky News can reveal Mr Taylor failed to properly declare he was a director and 50 per cent shareholder of JRAT International Pty Ltd on the parliamentary register.

The Energy Minister neglected to register his interests for two years while he was in office until September 2015, when he resigned as a director and transferred his stakes. Mr Taylor admits JRAT was not one of the companies he declared, conceding that it 'should have been', but has argued that since the company conducted no business during the two year period he was in parliament, it presented 'no possible conflict of interest'.

Solar energy is on the rise, but are we ready? While Canberra is debating whether we should increase our uptake of renewables, homeowners, businesses and state governments are voting with their feet. But what do increasing levels of rooftop and large scale solar mean for the grid? Ready. It is long overdue. LOL at the photo of the nice white roofs (very sensible) that are then covered with almost black solar panels (very stupid), & that highlights the flaw in the mass use of solar power, ALBEDO. There is not much on land other than a new road that converts so much sunlight to heat. No we are not ready due to the government and their coal mining bosses ..

Britain records first coal-free week since the Victorian eraBritain hasn't used any coal-powered energy since May 2 — a record for the country, helped by investment in renewables. Wow, it's almost like we don't actually need coal.. ..how surprising. 😑 They also have nuclear power. If they want to show they don’t need coal shut it down completely. Don’t mention gas and nuclear😊
