Four of this year’s six Goldman Environmental Prize winners fought against energy-related projects including dams and a rail terminal

SAN FRANCISCO—Activists who helped block major energy-related development efforts on four continents dominate this year’s Goldman Environmental Prizes, the highest honors in its field.

In all, six recipients from as many countries are being honored at a ceremony here Monday by the Goldman Environmental Foundation, which was started by the late San Francisco philanthropists Richard and Rhoda Goldman to honor grass-roots activists around the world. Former Vice President Al Gore is set to headline the event.

You know, Africa will need a lot of dams and rail terminals in order to grow economically and as a big society, what will happen then when more cities are going to replace prairies and forests, are Africans supposed to remain in small villages so they can coexist with lions?
