The supplier said it plans to hand out over £1 million worth of free energy-saving products in a bid to help customers reduce their energy consumption. Through the Customer Support Package, families can get electric blankets, mattress toppers, LED bulbs, SMART sockets, and even free boiler servicing.
Customers are also being offered free payment support alongside emergency top-up credit or temporary payment reductions. Raman Bhatia, CEO of OVO, said: “We have a responsibility as an industry to address the challenge households face right now. Our £40million support package provides help to those who need it most this winter. But there’s more to do. We continue to campaign for long-term, sustainable support for all UK households, including a social tariff for the most vulnerable and the abolition of the standing charge for all.
How to apply for the scheme Customers can apply through the supplier's website if they are an OVO or Boost Energy customer. According to the supplier, the application process takes around five minutes. You will be asked to provide details concerning your yearly income, monthly disposable income and an up-to-date meter reading. You will also have to tell the supplier how many people live in your home, what the main source of heating is, and how much you pay for energy bills.
