Throughout the autumn period, there will be a range of discounts applied to energy bills for eligible households. This will happen alongside a long-awaited Cost of Living payment which should provide some relief amid the cost of living crisis.

Currently, the base rate stands at 5.25 per cent after it was narrowly decided in September that it would remain unchanged. It is not yet clear what decision the Bank will come to, however, early indicators such as a stubborn inflation rate mean that it could increase. Warm Home Discount scheme - All month round The Warm Home Discount, which will run until March 2024, will see pensioner and low-income households receive a one-off discount to their energy bills worth £150. A letter will be sent out to eligible households, informing them of how much they qualify for and if any extra action is needed.
