Tesla is increasing prices of its electric cars after scaling back a store closure programme.Earlier this month Tesla said it would close an unspecified number of stores to fund a cut in the price of the Model 3 in the US to $35,000 .The carmaker, founded by Elon Musk, said that keeping more stores open would require a rise in vehicle prices by about 3% on average worldwide.
While it is pressing ahead with the price cut to the mid-market Model 3, prices will go up for more expensive variants of Model 3, as well as Model S and X cars, which can already cost up to £87,000. Customers can order at existing prices until 18 March. It had previously said that shifting sales online would allow it to cut prices by 6% on average - and cut the price of the Model 3.
BBCWorld Looks like a jelly mould
BBCWorld Smart move. Showrooms are important as prospective buyers like to get 'hands-on' when it comes to such an important purchase.
Who actually owns a Tesla? I’ve seen about 2 on the road..ever
BBCWorld Many people would like to have but Few people can afford it.
BBCWorld Tesla fail
BBCWorld Tesla fail Tesla fail
BBCWorld fail
BBCWorld fail
BBCWorld Tesla fail
BBCWorld They can't survive the current slippage in quality AT ANY PRICE
BBCWorld No way in hell he's gonna save the environment now. Not paying 70K I can get a Bimmer or Porsche with all that.
BBCWorld Only losers drive those
BBCWorld People commenting clearly can not read, he is raising the price of the Model S and X plus a few of the performance Model 3's, not the average Joe budget Model 3's which is the market he is pushing. If you can afford an S or an X then a 3% price increase will not make a difference
BBCWorld Always the intent, advertise moderate price get them hooked raise the price... Trump model of business
Should sell a packet.
make your mind up elonmusk 🤣🤪
BBCWorld Prices will fall as sales rise among the wealthier folk. Come on wealthier folk. Great benefits and a great investment!
BBCWorld I saw a report last week that said the exact opposite.
BBCWorld Umm... thought they were going to reduce prices?
BBCWorld shivodean
To help fund vanity space project?

Won’t be long till that bubble bursts then. !!!!
nicola will be spinning in his grave
Shocking!.....🙄
BBCWorld Funny as it’s has just been announced here in Australia that prices are being slashed and shops are closing for online stores. Hmmm what’s the real story?
Don’t get those economics
BBCWorld But sell fewer... damn, that musk is a genius...
This bloke was shutting stores and cutting prices two weeks ago - does he know what he is doing?
Wouldn’t buy one at half the price they are now.
elonmusk Tesla Best of both worlds:-) 10% physical stores but 90% online stores (via credit card installments, going to as much as 30 years to pay, like payment to a house, to accelerate the exodus from combustion to EV before 2026, year of Peak Oil)
BBCWorld One thing about Elon is that he seems more labile than his usual fast pace style
Hang on, last week you reported lower prices and stores to close wtf
JordDeFreitas x
They don’t know what they’re doing!
Is there a bumper sticker on the Tesla with Elon musk smoking meme..
BBCWorld
BBCWorld He will lose more potential customers by appeasing stock holders. This will have the opposite effect and cause bankruptcy for Tesla.
Over 70 grand for a car. Hardly gonna save the environment
Not according to this email from 6th March.
Sorry, didn’t Tesla recently announce a price reduction and that they were closing all stores? I received this email only last week...
To pay off the children and their families that die in the mines to make the batteries?
