Fingal council granted permission on basis that data consumed by centres must be matched with domestically generated renewable energy

Amazon Web Services , a subsidiary of the e-commerce giant, has secured planning permission for contentious plans to construct three new data centres in north Dublin.

Fingal County Council has granted a seven-year planning permission to Universal Developers LLC, who submitted the plans on behalf of AWS, for the three new facilities at the Amazon data centre campus on a 65-acre land-holding at Cruiserath Road, Dublin 15.
