But I thought Vic Gov wanted to get rid of coal and gas in power generation. Really sets the scene for extensive maintenance, doesn’t it?

Labor in power for 16 of the last 20 years! No excuse for poor energy infrastructure DanielAndrewsMP springst

Heh, they've got to do that. With wind producing nothing & diesel-guzzlers making it better for puny wind (helped along by Tasmanian hydro) are they to say 'we got it wrong'? The public wont fall for that, surely

Lily D'Ambrosio speaking to journalists. LilyDAmbrosioMP

deb2829 Total BS.

The more the better! Keep ‘me coming! The lunatics are looking more “Lunie” by the day!

The problem with the power in Victoria is on those who prevented the building of further coal fired power stations and preventing the major upgrade and or repair of existing plant. Renewables are a joke. Highly subsidised yet still too expensive. Fools.

So nothing to do with our out of control population growth via immigration and high ethnic specific birth rates, or the closure of coal fire power stations thanks to greens pandering.

JazzaBazza_ Surely these lies must be exposed! For god sake the sensible majority must go hard at these self absorbed zealots!

Lies

Bullshit.

😂😂😂Dating Coal 😂😂😂😂

The market was distorted by paying energy companies huge subsidies to move to renewables which is financially better for their businesses. Why would they maintain existing infrastructure when they could raise pricing and get paid by the government to migrate. Gov 2 blame.

The only failure was the DanAndrews labor party

JazzaBazza_ Serves her right for ‘Dating ‘ the Wrong ‘Thing’ See, I can say that now!!!

gregjamesbarton Why is Aust energy policy a focus in absolutes: eg: coal or renewables? Why isn’t it a policy if ‘ands’? Coal and renewables and gas and hydro and ...

Capitalism doesn’t care if heat waves kill people.

Outdated infrastructure? Remind me again who is in government in Victoria and responsible for updating that infrastructure.

We need to build a very long wall for these people?

Fake news

So peak delusional then. thisislabor 👎

Lily. So the Electricity Demand exceeding Supply in 42 C temperatures wasnt a factor. Question. If solar is powered by the Sun and we have never had more of it! Why is this renewable source a fail today?

And who is to blame for dating infrastructure?

That’s Funny

Ffs stop screwing around we know their going to have to build a nuclear or thorium reactor. If im paying $200-300 a month for power then i bloody well want power.

The State Energy Minister is also now playing with the fairies at the bottom of the garden

She didn't say it 2 loud but they were using diesel generators. From south Australia. Hook up. That was the reserve power . But the lying bitch isn't shouting that out . But the American woman who is in charge of the energy sector said that clearly before d'ambrosio spoke up .

DeborahAnnG Coal power is unreliable in hot weather Let's get a distributed generation which renewables can provide auspol

Lol 😂

Swelter! all you fools that voted Labour in Victoria & South Australia. Good chance of getting mugged at the beach, as well.

Victorians blame you for failure to act to give security of supply. Stop talking crap & get on with fixing the 3rd world electricity infrastructure. Electricity companies are making hundreds of millions profits on outrageous consumer charges but little going back to investment.

Who else can the stupod woman blame Why it might be that renewables are not all they a cract up to be!!

Ha ha ha.

BS. Lack of capacity.

What side of the fence does she sit on Absolute stupidity LiberalNSW need to kiss their arse goodbye supporting renewables Knee jerk reaction getting rid of coal fire power stations Every time the government make changes “They break it” Does not matter what party in government

Solution build a HELE coal power station, disband subsidies. & renewable certificates

Rubbish Midday peak 35,962MW F/Fuels provide 74% energy keeping your aircon, electric commuter tpt going, etc Wind a disaster provides 3.76% 22% of capacity. Solar 11% peak time. Draining the dam 11% hydro Lastly Battery 0.1% and you want to stop it

How much electricity came from renewables & how much from coal?

Lol outdated because there's no incentive to updated then when renewables get the subsidies. Isn't this the same LilyDAmbrosioMP that said “Blackouts are something that absolutely will not be a feature of today or a possibility,”

Praising renewables. 300,000 homes or businesses had no power fuckwit.

What really shits me is that they think we are that fucking stupid that we would tumble to there lies. They lifted the royalties on coal knowing it would make Hazelwood unviable. So it closes as they planned and now we don't have enough power. Just tell the fucking truth!

You mean like all the wind turbines in SA that were offline yesterday because it was too hot or there was no wind! But let’s not forget SA’s gas and diesel generation that propped up Victoria! Yeah, the renewables did it! 🤯🤯🤯

How can that be possible ? Renewables were delivering only 30% of their capacity Coal was crank up to meet renewables shortfall ! How does this fool justify the price of renewables going from $100 to $14,500 per Mw

Or she couldve blamed the UN for making us shut down coal stations but allowing India to build more and making us a third world nation

springst Victoria supposedly has the world's best electricity distribution network. But it seems Australians have made the decision to let the infrastructure become 'dated'. Why? Australians are used to hot weather in the summer? And we're supposedly a first world nation?

Waste-to-energy has 'big potential', but caution urgedThe development of waste-to-energy plants in Australia is underway and, while the potential is strong, there are some economic and environmental hurdles to jump first. Excellent - it's about time we stopped sending valuable combustible waste to landfill. Spot on - burning this waste to power an energy plant will reduce our carbon emissions ten-fold. We need more ideas like this. Strange that proponents have limited awareness of options to boost efficiency of waste-to-energy plants. Waste-to-gas allows use of 60% efficient power plants. Burning waste gets you to 30% if lucky. Hence Bill Grant compares CO2 emissions with coal plants DominicCansdale

Energy operator calling on business to cut power to avoid blackoutsThe energy market operator will ask big businesses to power down to help Victoria and South Australia avoid potential blackouts. Wouldnt happen with Nuclear. We are missing out. In South Australia even the diesel generators are working hard. No sign of the big battery. Why isn't it working? Windmills and solar not doing much. LilyDAmbrosioMP All the while you and your Government tweet out new wind farms in the never never....that will produce only more expensive and unreliable power while your policies today could force the few businesses left in Victoria to close.
