: Having studied the brilliant design of Ontario Place during my landscape architecture graduate studies at Cornell University, I was thrilled to see, after I moved to Toronto in 1985, how beautifully it actually came alive in person as it had in publication.
However, I wouldn’t write off all of Doug Ford’s development scheme. It may be worth considering his old Port Lands Ferris wheel proposal for Ontario Place or Exhibition Place. With complementary revitalized landscape, It would be a brilliant fit to the wonderful existing architecture of the site.
Handing public land over to a foreign company because nothing says Ontario Place like … well, it doesn’t sound like Ontario Place at all, does it?Anyone with an ounce of common sense should see that the Therme spa is like the ugly stepsister trying to jam her foot in Cinderella’s slipper. Toronto should say No to this folly in no uncertain terms. We should have the promises of all mayoral candidates to stand up to the province and find a better solution, one that respects the intrinsic value of Ontario Place and figures out how to integrate it with Exhibition Place to make a truly transformative move.“Banks do need to be taxed more – the budget’s new dividend tax was justified”
No matter what Ford comes up with just remember the sheer terror and incompetence if the Wynne years
Mafia Enabler
NO THERME SPA ... anyone in their tight mind would right off Doug Ford himself and everything he puts forth. He is a loser.
