The government’s current energy policies are focused on “short-term political gain” at the expense of long-term costs, according to The Australian’s Environment Editor, Graham Lloyd.

Lloyd’s remarks come in response to EnergyQuest’s analysis, which shows that Labor’s intervention in Australia’s gas market is one of the most extreme examples globally and could discourage investment in new gas.

“The main concern they have is not so much the price cap for the next 12 months,” Mr Lloyd told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “It’s that going forward, the government is talking about a system of reasonable pricing which effectively means there will be a permanent cap.”

Labor govt ‘rushing’ destruction of Australia’s most ‘basic input’ energyHerald Sun Business Commentator Terry McCrann says the government is “rushing” the destruction of energy production and we should instead be going out of our way to “encourage” energy investments in Australia. “It’s not as if we have a very sound globally competitive industrial base to start with, we should be going out of our way to encourage investment in Australian industry,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “The most basic input is energy – yet we’re not simply allowing it to be destroyed, we are actively rushing to that end.” Quoting your own supply again I see, This Labor government is danger to this country with the lies and decisions being made with such haste and no real consultation Who is he/they that you are referring too?
