Eskom is planning for its fleet vehicles to be electric by 2040.

Eskom has announced that it will play a major role in supporting the development of the electric vehicle sector in South Africa.

In this regard, Eskom has joined the list of local sponsors for the E-Fest with an R2.1 million sponsorship which will profile Eskom’s microgrid technology and mobility solution. This will enable EV owners to achieve significant savings when using the off-peak and standard periods to charge their cars, encouraging EV uptake and boosting electricity sales.“Plans are underway to begin the process of converting the rest of the Eskom fleet to electric where possible. We will soon seek suitable partners for the rollout of public charging stations on Eskom sites across the country, through applicable procurement processes.

What.... and they are going to charge them how, with diesel generators? 🤣🤣

Wondering how would this type of car to be charged when there no electricity? Solar perhaps

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Huh?

That can only be done with a different and committed administration, but not with any libration movement

Shouldn't Eskom make electricity first, for poor, suffering South Africans?

What a joke

Really? How do they expect to do that without electricity?

Are you kidding me?

Makes sense for sure 🙄

Loadshedding means that there is not enough electricity for public consumption. How does adding the extra burden of electric vehicles compute
