Gov’t looking at more incentives for electrification, to begin using EVs, including hybrids, for its vehicle fleet

The government is reportedly fine-tuning steps to increase the number of electric cars , including hybrids, for its use as official vehicles.

He added that the strategic framework for the development and planning of EV chargers in the country is also being developed. Liew was replying to a question from Jimmy Puah Wee Tse , who asked about MITI’s policy to encourage the use of EVs as well as the status of electrification efforts. “Until now, the existing total of EV and hybrid units stands at 21,659 units and 902 charging points,” he said.
