As of 7:15 this morning, Austin Energy was reporting 99,361 customers without power as ice accumulates on trees and branches.

PUBLISHED 6:55 AM CST Feb. 01, 2023AUSTIN, Texas — Just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, Austin Energy reported 113,563 customers were without power as trees and limbs were downed by ice.

The majority of the outages appeared to be west of Interstate 35. The outages represent about 20% of total customers.To see Austin Energy’s outage map, clickOncor on Wednesday morning was reporting about 50,000 customers without power. Its outage map is available: Extreme weather is leading to power outages in our service area. Our main concern: ice! We are prepared & have dispatched crews to restore power. Icy conditions may slow this work.
