Does it work for smaller households?

Like us, if you already have fairly low energy usage - or use it mainly out of peak demand - you may find you can't quite cut back to the percentage required to save money. Indeed, during two of the sessions, we didn't save a single penny . "But every little bit counts here and everyone who contributes makes a massive difference. You can also opt out if you feel these sessions aren't for you."However, each person's energy use is subjective.

She swaps to using her washing machine during the day and makes sure not to charge her electric vehicle during the sessions. "And she likes to watch a bit of programming on her tablet so I make sure that is charged beforehand.We did get more savings during some of the later sessionsIt's never a bad idea to consider how much energy you use and try to cut back and you lose absolutely nothing from opting in.

During the 3 day week there was a 'switchoff campaign where all lights in public spaces had a sign above the switch. Odd this wasn't brought in months ago - stead of which see this sort of thing from offices everywhere - 04.20 am in Chiswick

Not if you fall in the dark and injure yourself. We used to be told to keep lights on when we went out to prevent burglary, what happened to that?

Shouldn't have to. It's the greedy energy companies that need to change.
