Shadow Resources Minister Susan McDonald says the signing of the energy price bill would be the “death knell of Australia’s prosperity” and has labelled it as a “shocking piece of legislation”.

“This is a rushed legislation announced on Friday, they’re trying to jam it through the parliament the following Thursday, there is so little detail,” Ms McDonald told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“I hear Jim Chalmers saying that a vote against this is a vote against reduced electricity prices, well that’s just not true, how would we possibly know that when there has been no detail given.”

So don't do anything because this may slightly dent Rupert's (therefore his Liberal party employees...the Coalition Federal MP's) fossil fuel interests. That was the plan for 9 years and why she is a 'Shadow' talking to a Sky Host. Murdoch's, Libs and energy...hopless twits.

Sky news and liberals approvel of Big energys war profiteering and think that holding every Austrlian to rasom to make record profits while stealing benefits from hospital's, schools, etc by not paying any tax. This is liberal priorities multi nationals before Australia citzeans

She would say that wouldn’t she? Another paid shill for the mining lobby.

Should have never privatized a monopoly resource such as water and electricity.

She’s right. Price fix has never worked anywhere in the World. The most recent example is Argentina, as mentioned.

The rich will survive…and the countries who are ensuring that their power base is not reliant on the current green energy

'death knell ... prosperity'! Straight from LNP Hyperbole Bible.

Govt has ‘no agenda’ around ‘structural changes’ of energy supplyNationals leader David Littleproud says his party will not be voting for the government’s emergency energy legislation. “That’ll have unintended consequences – it will tear away at investment confidence,” he told Sky News Australia. He said the legislation will threaten the “big issue” of energy supply, which the government should be more focused on tackling. “We’re going to have a shortage of supply. “The government has no agenda around the structural changes around supply.” 👏 No surprise! Govt’s solution to energy crisis ‘will just stop’ power bills ‘going up as much’The Australian Financial Review's Political Editor Phillip Coorey says the government's solution to the energy crisis “won’t make your power bill low” but instead 'will just stop it from going up as much as it otherwise would have'. “Because of the caps on gas and coal your power bill would have gone up by 63 per cent over this year and next,' he told Sky News Australia. 'That’s now going to go up by 47 per cent this year and next, which is about $230 a household. 'And that will go down further when they work out over the summer how much discount you’ll get on your bill if you’re a low or middle income household.' Phil also thought Gladys was Australia’s saviour…. That worked out well. Seems extraordinary AlboMP & Bowenchris are willing to gift billions of tax payers money to energy multi-nationals already making billions in profits from our resources. DIDN'T VOTE FOR THAT. And refusing to provide that same money to households struggling with cost of living. Not what was promised.
