If this policy is implemented for short-term political mileage, it will do irreparable long-term damage to both the east coast power grid and Australia’s standing in the global investment community.

We should be under no illusions that for all the short-term political mileage of lowering energy bills, the government’srisks the very foundations of the east coast energy grid and all who use it.

For smaller producers, they need those long-term contracts, and a stable environment, to underwrite their access to capital . So, even if they wanted to invest, they couldn’t access the capital now. Ideologically, it would be easy to say that the destruction of gas supply will accelerate decarbonisation. A look at Germany, where they are turning back on coal plants and signing long-term LNG supply contracts to past 2040, suggests it might not be that simple.

Nothing is for free. Labor is harking back to its Marxist-Leninist Stalin economic controls and 5-year plans that was a real success. =increase inflation as more money chases decreased supply. Germany hyperinflation & Russian queues here we come.

Socialist gonna do socialism. Nationalising the gas industry is a warm up act. And you all thought the ALP had changed 😂😂😂

When you elect a socialist PM you get socialist policies. Let’s see how it works out.

The hyperbole from the AFR is stratospheric. It’s now become damaging to the brand how compromised the paper is to big gas companies.

Compared to how the coalition effectively felt with google and facebook, Albo is making Scomo look highly composed and effective.

That's your opinion. Obviously No Faith or support for investing in Renewables! In spite of AustralianLabor Winning Election for Change for the better for the Ordinary People and most vulnerable. Your attitude is Ugly.
