Energy Consumers Australia CEO Lynne Gallagher says energy prices are driven by global conditions, not domestic supply conditions.

“I think there’s a whole discussion about supply that’s been brought into this, which always gets brought up when we’re talking about prices,” she told Sky News Australia.

“According to the ACCC, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, we have enough uncontracted gas supply available to be used in electricity generation in the eastern states.”

Norway took control of their oil companies to stop gouging and this has given the country and it's people Hugh wealth

What a load if shit. The Australian gas price to the consumers is around ten times the price if exported gas. Keep it here and use it to generate power for the Australian people

Well they shouldn’t be, it is nothing more than profiteering!

That’s a barefaced lie

Would she believe this if we had nuclear power stations operating now today

Day after day encouraging hate and division, in an increasingly desperate attempt, to stop Australians from questioning wealth hoarding and privilege.

Labor+Green trying to spin a NZE-CO2 Lie! In past 10 years try to; 1. Build new Coal & NG Gen 2. Pilot SMR 3. Explore, extract, pipe & use new FF 4. Run NG & Coal generators profitably 5. Commit & Sign LT FF contracts Ukraine is just a tipping point into Energy poverty!

Don't believe that in any form...

Wrong.Electricity prices are going up because Intermittent energy from Solar is produced during the day when Electricity is not required. Coal fired power stations supply energy all when Electricity is required. They must charge higher prices because they are now not viable.

BS

The myopic and corrupt march towards renewables is the common factor! Debate Nuclear Energy!

Maybe in Australia, it works that way, but the US is driven by supply and demand.

lies

Crap

Nonsense! We produce power and gas in Australia - it must be for Australia in legitimate Australian prices. The foreign on energy companies are stained by greed

This CEO is smoking her pantihose!

Bullshit

If I have a veggie patch and fruit trees in my backyard I don't give a toss what the supermarkets charge for fruit and veg unless I let others come in to plant them, maintain them and take them away. We should become silent Financial partners in any new ventures in our backyard.

Bullshit

Some of these CEO'S absolutely dribble verbal diahorrea.

I call bullshit

Any energy price supplement $ off Aussies' bills won't be until April 2023! Huh,a bit late. 5 + months too late for those who need it now which can be done! Another 'poor' decision by the 'Great' Albanese👎

Makes sense, but that's the problem. It's are stuff, one price for Aussies and a higher price for the rest of planet.

Bold faced lies - who buys this BS when we have our own supplies.

Surely both apply

That's because 89.73 % of mining in Australia is Foreign Owned WHY should be the Question, most of the Profits head overseas. 🤬

What a load of(s)hit. Thanks to our government play prostitute to the WEF.

Rubbish

No they aren’t. More lies.

BS

Pull the other one, it plays jingle bells.

Except for Western Australia... they should tell the truth.

Why when we have all the resources here.

How the he'll can that be We produce it

Bullshit

How do the media allow people to get away with lies like this. Criminal

Yea thats right coal disappeared from this resource rich land.

🎶Ya won’t get us we’re part of a union …🎶 The Business Peoples Collective

Australia has gone down the gurgle and we are in with the 💩 in the treatment plant. We now get to take our medicine dished out by globalist, MSM, woke politicians and climate money 💰 hoax. Mad max is coming and it’s gonna be wild 😜

Bull shit.

Wait...so the price of Australian coal and gas, that is under the ground in Australia, and Australian wind and sunshine in the Australian sky is 'driven by global conditions'? What total and utter BS.

Totally correct except it shouldn’t. It’s our resources. If we don’t want to pay global prices then we can legislate and ensure we don’t.

No No It's all good...With the introduction of renewable power all our bills will fall drastically...Yeah...Sure. I remember when household electricity, water, petrol were essential services and priced accordingly.. Now it's just one big RIP Off after another !

Even if that we're true, pushing for renewables and exploring all storage solutions would be a solid response, long term while capping domestic prices and letting energy companies cop financial pain in the short term

Funny how the electricity prices in China haven't risen when they have mostly coal power

Que: Blame Russia. FFS these flogs are really desperate to blame everyone else.

What rot. We have everything to look after ourselves. All good until the climate change ruse commenced.

Albanese government takes ‘no backwards step’ when it comes to energyEnergy Minister Chris Bowen says the Albanese government “takes no backwards step” when it comes to acting on rising energy costs after price caps on energy resources were announced on Friday. “A new capacity investment scheme, which will unleash billions of dollars of stored, dispatchable renewable energy right across our country,” Mr Bowen told a press conference on Saturday. “We had 4 gigawatts of energy leave the grid under the Liberals, and only gigawatt come on, that’s a part of the reason why we face this energy crisis.” It’s called kicking the can down the road Liar, we do *not* import coal from Ukraine or Russia. Bowen is trashing *our* money for *his* idiology. That’s because nobody sleepwalks backwards.

Energy package is no ‘magic bullet’ but will take sting out of price rises: BowenEnergy Minister Chris Bowen has accepted the Energy Price Relief Plan will not 'solve all the problems' in the energy market but insisted the Government took 'decisive action' to protect consumers from price rises. Solving the symptom and not the problem. Government in a nutshell. It’s a LOT more than the crooked, do-nothing Morrison Government did! And in a Far Shorter time period. It will cause more problems and solve none.

'Keep the lights on': Ministers strike 'historic' deal on Australia's energy securityEnergy Minister Chris Bowen says the new deal - the so-called Capacity Investment Mechanism - will accelerate the transition to renewable energy by providing certainty of energy supply. Increased reliance on so called ' renewables' makes the system LESS reliable not more. Let's say a major thermal plant trips off the grid and the wind stubbornly refuses to blow, what then? Hang on, what about our power bills. When asked behind closed doors they all laughed .
