Electricity prices were expected to increase by 36 per cent in 2023-24 but the Government says its plan will reduce those prices by 13 percentage points resulting in the $230 per year saving.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton hit out at the Government’s saying Australian families and businesses would “pay the price” of the government’s “broken promise” to ease the cost of living crisis.

He is a total WANKER 💯!!!!

Climate change clown, did u listen to what Alex Epstein had to say about coal, on outsiders

still the gas rice was doubled with the $13 per gigajoule cap

So sayeth supercilious Bowen.😠 *refer to the picture* EVs are no magic bullet either.🤡

Garbage. No help to consumers. And money handed out to a few have to be paid by taxpayers ie mostly those that get energy bills.

The price rise that was caused by western governments insane climate policy.

Let’s kill off rainforests in the name of Climate Change - where are the activists and.greenies now!

It would be a miracle if the Labor took decisive action. This will not impact cost of living for any Australian and is a waste of time. They are trying to distract the Australian people from their epic failures around easing cost of living.

LOL

The Australian tax payers are YET again funding this governments incompetence

I just can't listen to him or Albo. They make me sick.

🤦‍♂️x ♾️

Prices are going to rise. They just wanted to seem like they were doing something.

This guys a dhead ….

we could have told you it won't save the problem .. get out of the way so someone who knows what they are doing can fix it .. one not slave to your idiology

More crap he’s part of the government minister for climate no choice but to agree

There is no cheap reliable energy like fossil fuels, the prices will skyrocket, the lights will go out, and people will absolutely starve.

Coal gas ....end of

Forget about renewables & start acting on nuclear… cleaner & more reliable

My electricity bill hasn’t gone up. Same as last Spring on similar usage. Local coal contracts are long term. Bowen needs to provide more details on how much and when price caps take effect and why.

What about all the election promises? Stop spending all our money on renewable energy. Get the grid right first. You really have no idea or you simply won't listen

Imagine if there was a cheap abundant source of energy that was available in our country.

This will result in the same outcome as every other price control…short term supply issues and long term price inflation

Blackouts Bowen. Very few in the service of their country have spoken as much bullshit and achieved so little.

Sure - the taxpaying plebs will still pay exorbitant prices for energy but trust Bowen it could have been so much worse!

I beg to differ .🤔

Far out AlboMP back peddling already

It will cause more problems and solve none.

It’s a LOT more than the crooked, do-nothing Morrison Government did! And in a Far Shorter time period.

Solving the symptom and not the problem. Government in a nutshell.

Albanese government takes ‘no backwards step’ when it comes to energyEnergy Minister Chris Bowen says the Albanese government “takes no backwards step” when it comes to acting on rising energy costs after price caps on energy resources were announced on Friday. “A new capacity investment scheme, which will unleash billions of dollars of stored, dispatchable renewable energy right across our country,” Mr Bowen told a press conference on Saturday. “We had 4 gigawatts of energy leave the grid under the Liberals, and only gigawatt come on, that’s a part of the reason why we face this energy crisis.” It’s called kicking the can down the road Liar, we do *not* import coal from Ukraine or Russia. Bowen is trashing *our* money for *his* idiology. That’s because nobody sleepwalks backwards.

'Keep the lights on': Ministers strike 'historic' deal on Australia's energy securityEnergy Minister Chris Bowen says the new deal - the so-called Capacity Investment Mechanism - will accelerate the transition to renewable energy by providing certainty of energy supply. Increased reliance on so called ' renewables' makes the system LESS reliable not more. Let's say a major thermal plant trips off the grid and the wind stubbornly refuses to blow, what then? Hang on, what about our power bills. When asked behind closed doors they all laughed .

No downward pressure on energy by Bowen is a ‘monumental failure’: Bridget McKenzieNationals Senator Bridget McKenzie says the coal cap pricing by Energy Minister Chris Bowen is a “monumental failure” with no downward pressure plans for “crippling” energy prices. “They told us they had a plan to deal with this; it is clear that they didn’t,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News host Peta Credlin. “To dress up this meeting as somehow investing $10 billion of Australian taxpayers' money in renewables is somehow going to put downward pressure on energy prices. “He’s kidding himself.” Chris Bowen himself is a failure of politician! He reminds me of a Puffin in that picture. Funny how politics never changes.only criticism.first.never there solution first.

‘Intermittent, not dispatchable’: Renewable energy’s ‘often not there when you want it’The phrase “dispatchable renewable energy” has to be one of the “great oxymorons of our time”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. On Thursday, Energy Minister Chris Bowen said the government would call auctions for bids for dispatchable renewable energy. “Dispatchable renewable energy? That's the whole problem with renewable energy, it's intermittent, it's not dispatchable, it’s often not there when you want it,” Mr Kenny said. “When you have it, it’s great, but when the wind isn't blowing or the sun isn't shining, it’s about as good as, well, it’s about as good as a politician’s promise to lower your power bill by $275 a year.” You people are becoming more detached from reality by the day.. you have zero influence anymore. You helped ruin the liberal party. It's fantastic Lefties who say no to coal/gas or nuclear are like the drunk drive who the cops pull over & insist they aren't DWI & speed off, go through red-lights then crash & kill themselves, rather than having to admit they're drunk. I still remember how the environment movement forced companies like McDonald's to move from paper to plastic (save the trees). Didn't work out well and we now have a worse world for it Now they want un- recyclable material like solar panels, batteries, and wind farms... bad

‘Blackout Bowen’ leading the country ‘down a blind alley’Today Energy Minister Chris Bowen’s 'own explanation' confirmed the renewables push has created the current energy mess, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. Just two days after Mr Bowen said “renewables are the solution to this crisis, not the cause”, he admitted, “we’ve had so much electricity leave the system over the last ten years and only a little bit come on … that means we’ve got less energy reliability and more pressure on prices”. “Yeah, that's right, the stuff that he was calling a lie, the forcing out of reliable fossil fuel generation, has created this crisis,” Mr Kenny said. “Blackout Bowen is leading the government and the country down a blind alley.” He is Special The Poisoned Well by The LNP Please list Chris Kenny’s qualifications.
