Green energy firm plans to invest €5 million in renewable components hub in the North, and to provide a one-stop-shop for wind energy operator maintenance

Galetech, the Cavan-based renewable energy firm, has acquired Precision Gear Company, a Northern Ireland-based heavy engineering business, for a sum understood to be in the region of £1 million .

The Irish firm said it had acquired the business from Macrete, a precast concrete manufacturer-based in Antrim, with plans to grow the business over the coming decade. Precision Gear Company specialises in the maintenance and refurbishment of heavy-duty gearboxes typically found in wind turbines, ...
