The energy crisis proves the activists are wrong. The gas industry is here to stay for a long time, with a central role in the economy.

to declare the end of gas as an energy source in a cleaner energy future, you might have been shocked by recent events repeatedly confirming its central role in the economy, reducing emissions and ensuring energy security.

Yet we risk squandering the opportunity to ensure that happens in a way that delivers on the potential of our natural gas resource – more domestic supply, more jobs, more government revenue and lower emissions. does not produce good policy, and we must focus on the real problems to get the best outcome for Australia. That outcome certainly doesn’t include activating the Australian Domestic Gas Security Mechanism to risk diverting gas from exporters to the domestic market.

Furthermore, it is these exports the Australian government estimates have the potential to reduce emissions in Asian importing countries by 166 million tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, replacing higher-emission fuels such as coal. It is also these customers around the world who we will rely on to build a hydrogen export industry in a cleaner energy future.Another threat to that future is the other popular chapter in the gas critics’ playbook, demanding a “UK-style windfall tax”.

The industry pays tax and royalties – tax exceeding 40 per cent on offshore projects once the massive investment is paid off, and royalties that deliver billions to state governments from onshore projects.

' the nation’s gas industry is delivering at times of great need' bullshit They r ripping us off Our need for cheap gas to revive manuf has been killed by greedy gas miners They do not give a damn about local users The miners knew a big supply problem but they gambled

Greens r always extreme German greenies have killed the nation exporters They want wealth tax to pay for welfare on tap n free dental NDIS bill is going over $50bils The gas miners here is doing a price extortion

While something has to be done Gas is a key part of the energy transition However we pay little attention to our energy wastage behaviours. E.g. Single driver cars are 90% on the road, houses are heating and cooling 10sqm more than 20 years back. We waste so much cooked food, etc

Provocative fossil fuel journalism 🤦🏻‍♂️

Climate change is but a trifle? Only in the AFR’s bizarro world.

Yeah. Ok. Yeah. The activists are wrong. JFC

I care about my children, so we need to invent and build a sustainable economy. Gas has to end. The sooner we can replace it the better. 'Consider a world without gas', we must not just consider, we must **deliver** a world without gas.

And a cry to end oil without a replacement. Imagine a cargo ship stucked in the canal blocked the entire world supply chain, try shortage of oil supply to jack up the inflation and supply chain issue. Its net zero not zero carbon.
