President Biden called a Supreme Court ruling that limited the EPA in curbing power plant emissions “another devastating decision.' Biden said the ruling aims to move the U.S. backward in the climate fight.

in half by the end of the decade and to have an emissions-free power sector by 2035. Power plants account for roughly 30% of carbon dioxide output.

In a dissent, Justice Elena Kagan wrote that the decision strips the EPA of the power Congress gave it to respond to “the most pressing environmental challenge of our time.” Richard Revesz, an environmental expert at the New York University School of Law, called the decision “a significant setback for environmental protection and public health safeguards.”

Several conservative justices have criticized what they see as the unchecked power of federal agencies. The justices heard arguments in the case on the same day that a United Nations panel’s report warned that the effects of climate change are about to get much worse, likely making the world sicker, hungrier, poorer and more dangerous in the coming years.

Cue the excitement from the drooling ignorant that think we can pray away the pollution. let me fix this 4U: Supreme Court rules that Congress can’t abdicate it’s responsibility to unelected bureaucrats (as they are wont to do so they can keep getting elected by not getting their hands dirty with difficult and unpopular decisions) Good. This means Congress has to vote and do their jobs. The people win here.

Supreme Court limits EPA in curbing power plant emissionsIn a blow to the fight against climate change, the Supreme Court has limited how the nation’s main anti-air pollution law can be used to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. By a 6-3 vote Thursday, with conservatives in the majority, the court said that the Clean Air Act does not give the Environmental Protection Agency broad authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants that contribute to global warming. Instead, the EPA is limited to plant-by-plant regulation, the high court said. The court’s ruling could complicate the administration’s plans to combat climate change. Expand the court to reflect the 13 circuit courts. The court has become too radicalized. Making rulings based on religious beliefs not the law. When you grow tired of just fucking over your country, fuck over the world. The Utah Republican Legislature will take great joy in knowing that their efforts to stop the drive towards improving air quality along the Wasatch Front now has the blessing of SCOTUS.

I cannot think of many things more frightening.”’ Bye Mother Earth 😢 we’ll miss y… … wait we live here 🤦‍♀️ We’re all dead Jim
