Experts seek action on sustainable cities - The Nation Nigeria News

They spoke at a roundtable dialogue to mark the coronation of Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdulwasiu Lawal.

Speakers called on the state to collaborate with the traditional institution to develop a sustainable city. Executive Director of LSE Cities Dr. Philipp Rode said Lagos population could be a potential if well harnessed.Rode, associate professorial research fellow at London School of Economics and Political Science remarked that cities should adopt 21st century green city models that are compact, connected and clean.Commissioner for the Environment Tunji Bello described the conference’s theme as apt as the world was experiencing climate change and recovering from COVID-19.

She noted that Iru could build a smart city through ICT, saying the planning of the kingdom should be backed by technology.
