The Sun Cable project, on track to be built in the Northern Territory, aims to supply up to 15 per cent of Singapore's energy by 2027, but the city-state has concerns about reliability and has not yet signed any agreements.

The company planning to build "the world's largest solar farm", connecting the Northern Territory to Singapore, has signed a development agreement with the NT Government.Electricity transmission is expected for Darwin by 2026Since the project's inception, the developer Sun Cable has promoted its plans to supply Darwin with electricity and also up to 20 per cent of Singapore's energy needs using an undersea cable.

A transmission line in the Barkly region would connect the system to Darwin and a 3,750 kilometre undersea cable would then run from Darwin Harbour to Singapore. Sun Cable's $22 billion project includes a 10 gigawatt solar farm and battery on a remote pastoral station. Mr Griffin said an increased supply would align with the NT Government's push to develop industries at Middle Arm, including chemicals and minerals processing and hydrogen production.

I don't think Singapore will commit. They are building this for 'easier' regulatory approval. If they can't export overseas. The project will direct the power to power the NEM, Australia will pretty much be Coal Free power generation. AGL will be Gone Bye Bye

Only to be blocked (literally?) by Bill Gates.

Singapore is willing to do this here in Australia, but our politicians still think solar is a pipe dream. I'd say we deserve better, but people keep voting for them.
