An Irish lawyer who helped six young Portuguese people take the European Union to court over the climate crisis will learn the outcome of the landmark case on Tuesday.The youth applicants in the Duarte Agostinho case challenged government failures to protect their human rights from the dangerous effects of climate change.
He added: "This was the first climate case filed with the court and a hearing was held in the Grand Chamber last September. They will issue a ruling in our case and two others."
