The number is a slight drop from recent years’ payouts, as well as the approximate $2,300 that the House had fought for earlier in the session. The decrease was not unexpected as Senate Majority members had been suggesting a chance of seeing a drop in payouts by using a 75/25% formula, which provides three-quarters of an annual draw from the Permanent Fund to state services, with one quarter going to the dividend.

With additional oil revenue, an energy relief check for roughly $295 was agreed upon on top of the Senate’s PFD, which in total comes out to roughly $1,650. The decision was reached by members of the operating budget conference committee who are responsible for settling differences between House and Senate budgets.
