The city is giving out grants to low and medium-income families for roofing, electric issues and more.

Harrisburg has set aside $5 million to help low-to-medium-income homeowners in the city complete essential repairs.

The money is available to homeowners whose properties are in Harrisburg, who live in the city as their main residence. The homes must be a single-family dwelling; landlords of multi-unit buildings cannot apply.A maximum of $30,000 is available per home, according to city officials.

The repairs cannot be cosmetic; homeowners cannot apply to add a new deck or a pool onto their homes.
