Shares of Crescent Point Energy fell to their lowest levels since July as investors reacted to the company's latest deal in Alberta's Montney shale play. The deal involves Hammerhead Resources, with Hammerhead shareholders receiving $21 per fully diluted common share.
The transaction is expected to close in December. Crescent Point says the deal would make it Canada's seventh-largest energy producer by volume, adding 105,000 acres and 800 drilling locations to its portfolio.
