Older car parks could be at risk of collapse from weight of electric cars

Older multi-storey car parks could be at risk of collapse from the additional weight from electric vehicles and may need either structural work or weight limits for cars allowed to enter, according to a new paper.

Dublin City Council and the Irish Parking Association have told the Business Post that they are reviewing the new research and will abide by any new guidance issued on the additional weight loads of electric cars.
