Well it's certainly not from the insurance pay outs. I had a Romanian trying to kill me by driving the wrong way against the flow of traffic ( I assume he was tired of this life) I had my roof cut off (write off), all my clothes cut off , body boarded to hospital.

The prices charged to insurance companies for body repairs by body shops is extortionate. That's why insurance is so ridiculously expensive.
My renewal was double so i shopped around dropped the named drivers and got it third cheaper.

I had a small business policy. Three vehicles, three drivers. The youngest was 25. He left so we lost the largest insurance risk and the number of drivers went down by a third but the premium stayed the same. Funny that.
Mines went from 544 to 909 with no claims, points, crashes or anything. Justified by ‘inflation’ 🤣
Tolerant of scams/cons where we are now robbed by everyone.
If only we'd made it safer to walk/cycle and cheaper to use public transport so that fewer relied on cars.

Mine has gone down by £100 this renewal, i pay £239 with esure for my 2016 vauxhall combo van . In fact mine has gone down nearly every year but this is the biggest drop I've had since i first started driving.

But in lockdown many cut premiums as we were not driving - short memories ! Insurance not just about the damage 2 a car - it covers cost of damage, life changing injuries & death u can cause.
