Micheál Martin says he concerned how an increase in energy standing charges will impact on the public

TAOISEACH MICHEÁL MARTIN has said there is no room for energy companies to exploit the current energy crisis by hiking up standing charges for customers.

“There needs to be really clear transparency around all of this and proper explanations and accountability around all of this by the energy companies to the public and to government on this issue,” he said.Speaking about vulnerable customers, the Taoiseach said “the codes are there and the Commission for Regulation of Utilities have made it very clear that no one should be switched off because of difficulties.

“No, the more general approach will be in terms of providing financial support across different instruments that we have at our disposal. He said the waiving of transport fees for school transport has already saved families €650, adding that the Government will be looking at further areas where it can reduce costs across the board.

I’m not paying it. No reason for concern then.

So are the public !!!!! Get an effin grip on yourself bad enough listening to the green tea drinker leader spout shite now you are too . Maybe its cold in canada too !

Micheal “hurler on the ditch” martin.

We're all concerned. But Paddy can do nought about it.

If there was only someone in power who could change that. Concerned mehol

Now if only we had a government which is in charge of such things .

Concerned but the spineless weasel will do nothing.

Do something you pr!!!//(

Standing charges should have been abolished years ago. There was some justification for them I n the development phase of electrification of the country, but we're years beyond that and the charges remain. Clear them out now it's pure stealing from the public.

Sure you are

Ah sure don't do anything about it but learn a few lessons 🤦🏻‍♀️please

Yet does fuck all

He's concerned, ah sure that's grand so - no more to be done 🙄

So MichealMartinTD is banning standing charges and capping rip off energy prices?

Concern… that’ll pay the bills. Useless, actually worse than useless.

He doesn't give a bollix

He is yeah.
