Ohio State and Nationwide have announced the creation of an agriculture innovation hub to address the consequences of climate change on farming.

The hub will promote research to entrepreneurs in the agriculture industry and facilitate connections between scientists."It's not going to be an immediate fix all, but we want to invest in the long term to find new ways to make sure that we continue to have a strong and robust food supply," said Mark Berven, president and chief operating officer for Nationwide Property and Casualty.

The work starts with finding practical applications for existing research, said Scott Shearer, chair of the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Ohio State. The first order of business is connecting researchers at different parts of Ohio State, said Cathann Kress, dean of OSU's College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
