Dublin Zoo's Wild Lights will return but organisers are also aware of the current energy crisis - so this year's event be taken off the energy grid and will be powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO)

Dublin Zoo has confirmed the return of 'Wild Lights' to the attraction this Christmas - and tickets are on sale quite soon!They say that a new theme - The Magic of Life - will offer visitors a magical and immersive experience during winter nights.Wild Lights will be highlighting the importance of biodiversity through colourful lanterns among other intiatives.

However, organisers are also aware of the current energy crisis - so this year's event be taken off the energy grid and will be powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil , derived from "100% renewable raw materials," a Dublin Zoo spokesperson said. "We are excited to welcome all visitors this winter to enjoy the magical journey with us and we hope this year’s theme will inspire a passion for nature and a willingness to help."
