Former deputy prime minister John Anderson says the confusion and obfuscation over the objectives in energy policy over the last decade has contributed to the breakdown of trust in politicians and parliament.

“People have not been prepared to go and spell out the intended consequences of their policies,” Mr Anderson said.

“I think the confusion and indeed obfuscation over the real objectives of energy policy over the last ten years has helped contribute to the breakdown of trust in the system, but particularly in our parliaments and in our politicians. “This is a critical issue – as I see it – this breakdown of trust I think is fuelled by that refusal by too many of our leaders, too many of our politicians to front the people who are going to be affected by their policy.

LyleShelton The LNP has had no energy policy for the past 7 years! That is the problem! The breakdown of trust in politicians and parliament is due to the LNP being a bunch of lying grifters! L O L ! ! !

In twenty years most of these solar panels and twirly whirlys will be scrap. Very costly excercise to keep the gay rainbow green warriors happy who only get 5% of the vote.

Then when are the international flights to resume

Any moment now minion Morrison will sell the absurd benefits in purchasing American gas.... even though we possess over 100 years of the resource

And yet not addressing a $500m war memorial. Once again you win the not ironical cesspool of journalism. Enjoyed hosting your circle jerk last night?

Gee, I wonder who the federal government was?

Some ex politicians ( those that don’t rely on the network for referrals or jobs) can feel free to at last tell the truth and give an honest opinion . Far too few unfortunately

and Murdoch outlets have led the charge of obfuscation.

Obfuscation...must be the word of the year 2020

Just get down and build new Black Coal fired power stations. The Federal government to own and supply power to all Australians. The so called competition in power and the selling off by State governments has been a failure and renewables in the real world are not renewable

That is an understatement.

'Smart politics' from PM putting 'domestic energy needs' before fixed 'energy targets' | Sky News AustraliaThe PR Council’s Kristy McSweeney says it is “smart politics” from the prime minister for placing industries and jobs at the core of net-zero emissions – rather than commit to fixed energy targets.\n\n“Labor and the corralling of the climate change industry around Australia has been trying to wedge the government to say ‘it’s targets or nothing’,” she told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.\n\n“This is the prime minister’s own narrative; this is his own action on climate change. \n\n“It’s not ignoring climate change, it’s not saying Australia is not going to do anything but it’s certainly saying we’re going to look after our domestic energy needs first … but we don’t have to sign your policy just because you want us to set a target that does not necessarily suit us.”\n I don't think 'smart politics' should be the number one priority for this particular subject, unless your a clown. 🤡 You want 'smart POLO-TICKS'? Shut up dude! Let's try something different. A smart society. Stupidest shit I ever heard...'smart politics'. & Yes, I mean to make 'politics' a bad word. 'Spoiled', good. 'Individualism', good. 'Marriage', good. 'Parents', good. 'Nationalism', good. Morrison gov zero emission with 'technology not taxes' & NO carbon tax Albo Labor zero emission with ? NO policy One Nation believes Australia should withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

Energy minister warns Victoria's proposed energy policy will impact jobs | Sky News AustraliaConcerns are being raised over Victoria’s proposed emissions reduction strategy which would see hospitals, police stations and schools completely powered by renewable energy by 2025. \n\nThe state set reduction targets of 28 to 33 per cent by 2025 and net zero by 2050 – which has been met with fears it will harm jobs and drive up energy prices. \n\nFederal Energy Minister Angus Taylor warned the aggressive policy will harm blue collar jobs. \n\nVictoria’s major coal generators also feared mismatched policies between state and federal governments will reduce electricity reliability. \n Another disguised price support for renewables - if gov has to buy it will bid up the price and drive artificial actions like more batteries I hope doctors like to surgery by candle light 😂 Angus Taylor has fears for blue collar jobs 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Australia will make 'energy plans and policies' based on its circumstances: Treasurer | Sky News AustraliaTreasurer Josh Frydenberg says 'no two economies are the same' when it comes to energy and 'Australia must make plans and policies based on our circumstances'.\n\n'The Americans will decide their own targets just as we will and as you know, we've been delivering on our emissions reduction targets whether it was with Kyoto or our 2030 target,' he said. \n\n'We're seeking to reduce our emissions up to 26-28 per cent, and we're already down by 19 per cent; something the prime minister pointed out in his statement last night.\n\n'Nearly one-in-four Australian households have rooftop solar; that's the highest on a per capita basis than anywhere in the world. We've been rolling out renewables at 10 times the rate of many other countries.' Sell to america I believe climate change is real, and it is human carbon created. But that will only be solved by the US, EU, India and China, all the rest of us are making empty promises before climate. And all of those nations are making promises for targets with no realistic details.

China is about to ‘damage us more’ in the name of climate change | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Peta Credlin says Australia’s energy security is under threat because of energy policies which aim to “win over the UN” at the cost of our sovereignty.\n\nMs Credlin said China has damaged Australia and the rest of the world “courtesy of COVID-19” but the communist regime is about to “damage us more” in the name of combatting climate change.\n\n“China pretends to take climate change seriously, just as the old Soviet Union claimed to be devoted to peace and freedom, because dictatorships always play on the gullibility and wishful thinking of democracies, needing to believe that, deep down, dictators aren't so different from us,” she said.\n\nBeijing though has made “no effort whatsoever” to reduce its emissions to the point where it even opened “three times as much coal fired capacity as the rest of the world combined”.\n\n“Enter Joe Biden, the new US President, who's desperate to be different from Donald Trump, and who's re-entered the Paris Climate Accord to appease young voters brainwashed about a climate emergency,” Ms Credlin said.\n\n“Biden's posturing will be used to justify even more economy-sapping emissions cuts here in Australia.\n\n“Australia, well we're the mugs who do what we say, but get treated like pariahs anyway, and get more and more duped into making ourselves economically and strategically vulnerable.\n\n“This China pandemic has inflicted the biggest economic hit on the rest of the world since the Great Depression.\n\n“The danger is that having been whacked by COVID, we're now going to inflict even more economic self-harm in the name of climate change.”\n But Peta only studied defamation not climatology. What policy. Australia has been devoid of any policies since 1997. Don't worry Australia, just keep buying CHINA MADE answer support this cocky murderous regime! All you see on TV at night is TAXPAYER subsidised MADE IN CHINA adverts! Danoz, TV Direct, TV Shop, etc etc all support CHINAS ECONOMY & the CCP! Anyone who buys CHINA MADE is a trator!

Matt Kean's energy policy 'destabilising' market | Sky News AustraliaOne Nation’s Mark Latham says there is no point having a national energy policy when every state can just race off and do their own thing.\n\nEnergy policy has been a big debate between New South Wales and the government with Prime Minister Scott Morrison set to weigh in on the states proposed new laws.\n\nNew South Wales Energy Minister Matt Kean introduced a bill to shift to renewable energy, potentially leading to the end of coal fired power generation.\n\n“We know the prime minister is no fan of Matt Kean, and Matt Kean has struck out this state-based energy policy which destabilases the national energy market,” Mr Latham told Sky News.\n\n“I’m sure the prime minister has got many concerns, not least of which is the new electricity tax in New South Wales.\n\n“I think Scott Morrison quite rightly would put a lot of faith in his Minister Angus Taylor than in Matt Kean.”\n
