Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti isn't waiting for Congress to act on the threat of climate change. Today he introduced the city's own version of the a zero carbon grid, zero carbon transportation, zero carbon buildings, zero waste, and zero wasted water by 2050Citing the environmental disasters the city has faced in recent years, the mayor explains in the 150-page plan that"the scale of our ambitions must meet the magnitude of this crisis.
L.A.'s Green New Deal sets ambitious targets along its path to carbon neutrality, including plans to:Convert all city fleet vehicles to zero emission where technically feasible by 2028 Exact details and funding for programs aren't given in the sustainability plan, but the City will need help of the community and private sector to execute this strategy.
With Tesla constantly increasing and improving the production of their electric vehicles, LA would be 100% EV in 2030.
We only have 12 years.......
That would be stuck in traffic and never move
Just remember, without nuclear, every 9 out of 10 electrons made for the grid, burns some hydrocarbon.
2050! Thats in ‘only’ 30 yrs time. Slow moving and still bragging about it!
2050 is freakin far away, i think this will be done by 2030.
I dont think electric cars are the solution. The majority of our electricity comes from the burning of coal, hydroelectric dams (someone fact check), and although wind turbines, and solar exist we are still dependent on the prior. Cleaner bio fuels would be better in my opinion
Sheeeeeeeeiiiiiittttttt
$20 their electrical grid can't handle that kind of capacity lol
Too late.
2050? Wtf
Too late for Beto2020 and AOC
Who will make it 2050
I would be happier if they can reduce the amount of needles and human waste in San Francisco or eliminate the typhus in LA
