In a post, Center Point energy says, "We greatly appreciate our crews, mutual assistance partners, vegetation professionals and everyone behind the scenes who has been working tirelessly to bring back power to our affected customers. a deadline for getting power restored in the Houston area. Power was knocked out in Houston and along the Texas Gulf Coast by Hurricane Beryl last Monday.

“CenterPoint has completely dropped the ball with regard to getting power back on,” said Governor Abbott at a Houston press conference on Monday. “I think it’s clear from the events of the last week that the quality of their infrastructure, their ability to maintain that infrastructure and their communication with their customers has been called into question,” said Thomas Gleeson, Chairman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas.Austin Energy sent 20 line workers and 17 trucks to help restore electricity in Greater Houston.
