Texas and ERCOT power demand will shatter summer peak record, pass 100,000 megawatts, CPS Energy CEO Rudy Garza says

CPS Energy CEO Rudy Garza said he doesn’t just think Texans will break last year’s all-time power-use record this summer — they’ll shatter it. While he predicts the San Antonio region will top its own peak use by about 100 megawatts, the leader of the nation’s largest city-owned utility said Texans are likely to blow past 100,000 megawatts of demand this year for the first time in state history.
