Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has warned Labor’s"failed" renewable energy"experiment" threatens new wind and solar investments in Australia, as he unveiled a buried sentence in the Australian Energy Market Operators latest report.

Mr Canavan said Labor’s “big experiment” on investing in energy systems with the aim to slash power bills by $275 by 2025 had “failed”. Picture: Sky News Australia. “The Labor Party said… if they were able to invest more in renewable energy in wind and solar your power bills would fall by $275,” Mr Canavan said.

"It’s actually quite clear that sentence should have been on the first page but its buried later in the report and it effectively bells a call here saying investing more in wind and solar is not going to solve these reliability issues," he said.Mr Canavan said when there is no electricity guarantee, no one would make new investments in Australia for the nation to"compete on the world stage".
