Cardiologist and Health Coach, Dr Monisola Adaniji, has advised youths to reduce the intake of alcohol and energy drinks because they affect

the heart and raise blood pressure.

The Cardiologist at Naveen Healthcare Limited, reiterated that cigarettes, shisha and marijuana affect the lungs and causes chronic inflammation, which also predisposes to chronic illnesses and hypertension. “Youths should eat less salt, sugar, and oil. This can be done by reducing the amount of processed food. Food should consist of plenty of fruit, vegetables and whole foods prepared from natural ingredients. Also, getting at least 6 hours of sleep every night is important for sleep reduction. While we can’t eliminate stress, we can find ways to reduce it as much as possible.”
