IN his determination to ensure that Chairmen elected into the 31 local government Councils of Akwa Ibom state operate from their respective local government areas governor Umo Eno has flagged-off the construction of official residence for them.
He noted that the residence is expected to be completed within a period of six months a and expressed hope that other 30 local government areas of the state would provide the land for the project execution.He emphasized that all LG Council chairmen must live in their respective areas or face the full weight of the law, stressing that the initiative was conceived to assist him share in the feelings of the people, understand their needs and devise means of solving their problems.
They need to stay in their domains so that we can work with them to develop our local Government areas.
