Martin Lewis has urged many Direct Debit-paying energy customers to phone up their provider and get some cash back.
"This is the bottom, this is when you would expect to owe your energy firm the most, which is, roughly if you started in January...just over one-and-a-half month's worth of Direct Debit ,so your direct debit is £200, you're probably owing £330 if you started in January. Martin highlighted that people should double-check if they're in credit right now, as this is the best time in the Direct Debit cycle to maybe get some of your hard-earned cash back. However, he highlighted that this is only possible if your provider has recently received an accurate meter reading to ensure that your balance is correct.
