An International Press Conference announcing the inaugural convening of the Climate Action Africa Forum concluded on Friday at theThe conference, a precursor to the upcoming Climate Action Africa Forum scheduled from 17-19 June, 2024, at the Landmark Events Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, brought together leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the globe.

This brought together an esteemed gathering of leaders, experts, and stakeholders to explore solutions to Africa’s pressing environmental challenges.

Throughout the conference, distinguished speakers and thought leaders underscored the urgency of collective action in addressing Africa’s climate challenges. “Our partnership with the Climate Action Africa Forum reaffirms our dedication to driving climate-smart initiatives. We remain steadfast in supporting endeavors like CAAF24 that advocate for a greener and more resilient future for Africa.”

Climate change, extreme weather, conflict exacerbate global food crisisFishing boats lie by the seashore in Aiyetoro, Ilaje Local Government Area, Ondo State. In Ondo State, communities along the Atlantic coast have endured years of sea incursions caused by rising sea levels and intense storms. Funmilayo Rasaki, 75, lives in a small brick house a few steps away from the seashore in Aiyetoro, a coastal community in the southern senatorial district of Ondo State. She had a small farm on which she cultivated crops adapted to the high tide of the sea in the area. She planted the crops in mounds that raised them above sea level and provided refuge for the crops. But all that stopped in 2019 when a sea surge swept through the community and left it in ruins.
